Ad Specifications

Ad ops must ensure that when a campaign is asked to be tagged and served it fulfils all the requirements set for the relevant format.

468x60 Banners

• On the site homepage and article pages ONLY.
  • Max file size 40k.
  • Expandable downwards only to 300 pixels. Click to expand, click to close - therefore not obstructing the top nav menu. Must have a close button. Sound user initiated only.

728x90 Leader boards

• On article pages ONLY, not on the homepage of the site. Trafficking Target to use from site homepage exclusion is called "Area: Not on DM Homepage".
  • Max files size 40k.
  • Expandable downwards only to 300 pixels. Click to expand, click to close - therefore not obstructing the top nav menu. Must have a close button. Sound user initiated only.

120x600 Skyscrapers

• On article pages ONLY.
  • Max file size 40k.
  • Expandable to the right only to 350 pixels. Click to expand, click to close. Must have a close button. Sound user initiated only.
  • No 160x600 super skyscrapers are permitted. Remove the site value "DM" from the Ad Group targeting if managing a RON (or other package including DM) campaign.

300x250 MPUs

• On site homepage, channel homepages and article pages.
  • Multiple iterations on homepage and channel homepages (average of 3 per page) at the behest of Editorial. One position only available on article pages.
  • Max file size 40k.
  • Expandable downwards to 300 pixels. Expansions downwards to 300 pixels and to the left to 475 pixels will require stricter editorial approval. Click to expand, click to close. Must have a close button. Sound user initiated only.

300x76 and 300x150 Buttons

• One site homepage and channel homepages only.
  • Max file size 10k.
  • Usually multiple iterations of 2 or 3 per homepage at the behest of editorial.
  • Tends to be internal advertising and added value to display.

900x250 'Belly Bands'

• On channel homepages only.
  • Max file size 50k.
  • Requires editorial approval on positioning.
  • Advance warning on incoming campaigns due to manual process of switching on the ad tags within the page.
  • No expandable version allowed. Any sound is user initiated only.

Overlays 350x350

• Everywhere except the site homepage, chat and message boards.
  • Max File size: initial load 100k. Movie streams should be 'polite'.
  • Frequency Capped to 1 view per user session.
